Posted by Ricardo d Argence under Business | Tags: Business |Using subdomains is not preferable because they don’t look right, require using a prefix name, and are overlooked by seach engines; this is why most businesses don’t like to use them. Lets learn the truth about subdomains.
The definition of a subdomain is a secondary or substitute domain plateau. A regular domain looks as follows: www.domain.com. A sub domain looks like this http://subdomain.domain.com. The difference is that www is not at the front of subdomains.
Efficiently is ranked well by subdomains. Search engine spiders and bots do not discern between the ranking of sectioned off subdomains and regular domains. Provided you have optimized your content with SEO keywords, having a subdomain or regular domain makes no difference.
Lets say that your site has a plethora of categories in it. In searching the Internet, it is possible to search each personal section and get a positive rank.
Each subdomain would be looked at by search engines as a new site with its own index or home page. You may want to try creating subfolders on the subdomain to get around this so that search engines can read the folder as one set of site information.
If the main domain name is banned do not worry about your subdomain being banned. The subdomain is affected if the main domain happened to be banned. You will notice it a lot in sites which have adult content and are violating certain agreements signed with a provider that does not want a domain used to host adult material.
To repeat, there isn’t any problem with utilizing a subdomain. If you wish to establish every subdomain as a unique entity, go right ahead. Get a main domain to use as a certified landing page.
